Message In this century, pandemics caused by SARS-CoV, a new influenza virus A/H1N1pdm and SARS-CoV2 have occurred one after another. Thus, we are always adjoining to the pandemics caused by emerging infectious pathogens. For opposing to these emerging infectious diseases, it is required to quickly develop effective and safe vaccines. In our laboratory, we aim to develop a new vaccine platform for contributing to this important mission. We have succeeded so far in developing novel magnetite nanoparticle vaccines conjugated with protein antigens for protection against pneumococcal and fungal infection, which induces strong mucosal immune responses by airborne route administration. We hope to create this new platform for quick development of the useful vaccines against possible emerging infectious diseases in the future utilizing our original techniques.
