Message My research aim is to carry out spatial epidemiological studies with the development of spatio-temporal visualisation and analytical methods of the COVID-19 epidemic, and to assess the social impact of this epidemic from a health geography perspective. At present, we have released a web-based 3D spatio-temporal map of the COVID-19 epidemic that reveals how the disease has spread and where it has persisted. In addition, we are conducting research on geographical differences in the impact of the epidemic on various health outcomes and health behaviours such as physical activity based on social surveys and data analysis with human mobility information. Later, when time permits, I would like to examine the long-term historical relationship between infectious diseases and the urban environment, including analytical studies of the accumulated historical records of past pandemics in the modern period in Japan.
